University College of Construction Technology (UCCT) is a Public Private Partnership (PPP) Organization operating under the Ministry of Skills Development & Vocational Training and Advanced Construction Training Academy (ACTA) at Pelawatta. UCCT is also a non-profit making organization serving the construction industry.

               Our Institution conducts Under Graduate Diploma Courses of NVQ Level-5 & Level-6 and the programs are closely monitored and assessed by the TVEC. We are accredited by the Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission (TVEC) of the above mentioned Ministry to conduct NVQ Level 5, Level 6 in Construction Technology & Quantity Surveying.

             UCCT is a training Institution approved under Reg No.PO 01/0630 in TVEC (Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission) and accredited to conduct NVQ Level 5 /6 Courses. UCCT follows the TVEC curriculum and TVEC conducts all the examinations and assessments. Certificates are also issued by TVEC as a National Qualification. (Similar that GCE certificates are issued by Education Dept. although you study at various schools.)

             The University Colleges were established to produce youths with that capacity for accomplishing the skilled gap filling in the lower middle management level of the sector. Experience shows that the students studying in University Colleges are mainly youths from low / medium income families. This is applicable for our UCCT as well students enrolled are largely from middle or lower middle income families from sub urban and rural areas, seeking better and professional carriers.

Objectives of UCCT

• Offer accredited and recognized qualifications for the professional development of the managerial and supervisory personnel.
• Conduct training programs for National Vocational Qualifications at Level 5 & 6 for construction industry sector employees and other potential entrants to the sector.
• Affiliate with local and international professional organizations and award recognized local and international qualifications.
• Conduct training need analysis and post training evaluations.
